Safe Systems of Work for Oil and Gas Processing Operations
This unit develops the skills and knowledge required to implement safe systems of work in an oil and gas processing operations environment.
It is designed to prepare individuals for a career as a Process Technician. It would also be relevant for individuals who would like to develop skills in one or more processing operation. This could include existing Process Technicians who would like to expand their skills.
Learning Objectives :
Upon completion of the course, participants will be able to:
- Outline health and safety legislation and procedures in the oil and gas industry
- Implement safety procedures and documentation, safe system of work and safe working practices
- Explain safety and emergency/critical systems and procedures
Prerequistes :
It is recommended that learners complete the OPITO Global 1 Training Certificate: Basic Oil and Gas Processing or equivalent training before undertaking this Training Certificate.
In particular, it is recommended that the learners have attended Health and Safety in Oil and Gas Processing Operations prior to attending this unit.
Teaching methods :
- The course will be delivered by means of classroom lectures and practical exercises in the training workshop or on a real-life plant.
- Workshop/on-site practice content: 60%
- Pre & post course tests are performed to measure knowledge acquisition.
