Oil and Gas Processing Operations Techniques

This unit develops the knowledge of techniques for oil and gas processing operations.  

It is designed to prepare individuals for a career as a Process Technician. It would also be relevant for individuals who would like to develop skills in one or more processing operation. This could include existing Process Technicians who would like to expand their skills. 

Learning Objectives : 

Upon completion of the course, participants will be able to: 

  • Analyse real examples of oil & gas processing systems using P&IDs and DCS schematics 
  • Describe oil and gas processing operations for integrated systems 
  • Identify typical oil and gas processing issues, faults and factors impacting performance 
  • Understand cause & effect chart and explain fault finding techniques 
  • Implement effective communication practices for oil and gas operations 

 

Prerequistes :

It is recommended that learners complete the OPITO Global 1 Training Certificate: Basic Oil and Gas Processing or equivalent training before undertaking this Training Certificate. 

In particular, it is recommended that the learners have attended Basic Oil & Gas Processing Operations Techniques prior to attending this unit.

 

Teaching methods :

  • The course will be delivered by means of classroom lectures and practical exercises in the training workshop or on a real-life plant. 
  • Workshop/on-site practice content: 50% 
  • Pre & post course tests are performed to measure knowledge acquisition.
