Instrument and Control Maintenance Practice: Small Bore Tubing

This unit develops the skills required to carry out routine maintenance of small bore tubing in a training workshop, including preparation for maintenance activities, identification of hazards, using technical guidelines, preparing maintenance records and clearing the work area. It is recommended that Instrument and Control Maintenance Techniques: Small Bore Tubing is completed before or in conjunction with this Unit.

Learning Objectives : 

Upon completion of the course, participants will be able to:

Teaching methods :

  • The course will be delivered by means of classroom lectures and practical workshop exercices. 
  • Workshop practice content: Learners must maintain a Log Book to record details of maintenance activities they have carried out – this will provide evidence of learners understanding of the maintenance techniques involved and steps required. Learners should be given guidance on the relevant information to record.
  • Pre & post course tests are performed to measure knowledge acquisition.
