Electrical Maintenance Techniques: Electrical Hand Tools
This unit develops an understanding of the function, operation and routine maintenance requirements associated with electrical hand tools. It is recommended that An Introduction to Electrical Maintenance: Rotating Equipment and Tools is completed before undertaking this Unit and that Electrical Maintenance Practice: Electrical Hand Tools is completed in conjunction with this Unit.
Learning Objectives :
Upon completion of the course, participants will be able to:
- Outline the function and operation of electrical hand tools.
- Outline typical signs of fault, damage, wear and corrosion in electrical hand tools.
- Describe typical routine maintenance requirements of electrical hand tools.
- Equipment – electrical hand tools.
- Routine maintenance techniques for electrical hand tools.
- Technical information and guidelines.
Teaching methods :
- The course will be delivered by means of classroom lectures and practical workshop exercices.
- Written questions could be supported by oral questions using equipment in the workshop – for example, identifying and naming faults or damage on a piece of equipment and/or describe the sequence of dismantling a piece of equipment.
- Assessments can also be combined with other units where relevant, for example, Electrical Maintenance Practice: Electrical Hand Tools.
- Pre & post course tests are performed to measure knowledge acquisition.
