Electrical Maintenance Techniques: Cells, Batteries and Uninterruptable Power Supply Systems

Electrical Maintenance Techniques: Cells, Batteries and Uninterruptable Power Supply Systems.

Learning Objectives :

Upon completion of the course, participants will be able to:

  • Outline the function and operation of cells, batteries and uninterruptable power supply systems.
  • Outline typical signs of fault, damage, wear and corrosion in cells, batteries and uninterruptable power supply systems.
  • Describe typical routine maintenance requirements of cells, batteries and uninterruptable power supply systems.
  • Equipment – cells, batteries and uninterruptable power supply systems.
  • Routine maintenance techniques for cells, batteries and uninterruptable power supply systems.
  • Technical information and guidelines.

Teaching methods :

  • The course will be delivered by means of classroom lectures and practical workshop exercices.
  • Written questions could be supported by oral questions using equipment in the workshop – for example, identifying and naming faults or damage on a piece of equipment and/or describe the sequence of dismantling a piece of equipment.
  • Assessments can also be combined with other units where relevant, for example, Electrical Maintenance Practice: Cells, Batteries and Uninterruptable Power Supply Systems.
  • Pre & post course tests are performed to measure knowledge acquisition.
