Basic Oil and Gas Processing Operations Techniques
This course develops knowledge of basic processing operations for oil and gas.
It is designed for individuals wishing to progress to a career as a Process Technician and also would also be relevant for individuals who would like to develop a basics understanding of, and/or some basic skills in, processing operations e.g., Maintenance Technicians.
Learning Objectives :
Upon completion of the course, participants will be able to:
- Describe hydrocarbon composition and properties
- Explain oil, gas and water process systems, associated equipment and operating conditions
- Describe processing operations and routine checks for oil, gas and water process systems
- Identify and explain factors which may impact on processing operations
- Outline operational practices for processing teams and in particular the role of control room operator and plant operator
Prerequistes :
- It is recommended that candidate complete the OPITO Global Foundation Training Certificate: Introduction to Oil and Gas Processing or equivalent training before undertaking this course.
- Participants shall have attended “Introduction to Oil and Gas Processind Drawings” and “Basic Oil and Gas Processing Drawings“ prior to attending this module.
Teaching methods :
- The course will be delivered by means of classroom lectures, demonstrations, and skills training exercises
- Workshop practice content: Not applicable for this unit.
- Pre & Post Course Test are performed to measure knowledge acquisition.
