Basic Oil and Gas Processing Operations Practice
This course develops the skills required to carry out basic processing operations in an oil and gas processing training workshop or plant.
It is designed for individuals wishing to progress to a career as a Process Technician and also would also be relevant for individuals who would like to develop a basics understanding of, and/or some basic skills in, processing operations e.g. Maintenance Technicians.
Learning Objectives :
Upon completion of the course, participants will be able to:
- Carry out startup operations for oil and gas process plant/equipment
- Monitor and record plant/equipment readings
- Carry out shut down operations for oil and gas process plant/equipment
- Use and follow operating instructions
- Explain oil & gas processing operations for the process systems they are working on
Prerequistes :
- It is recommended that candidate complete the OPITO Global Foundation Training Certificate: Introduction to Oil and Gas Processing or equivalent training before undertaking this course.
- Participants shall have attended “Health and Safety in Oil and Gas Processing Operations“, “Basic Oil and Gas Processing Drawings” and “Basic Oil and Gas Processing Operations Techniques“ prior to taking part in this module.
Teaching methods :
- The course will be essentially delivered using workshop/ on-plant practice.
- The beginning of the course calls for lectures required before on-job practice.
- Workshop practice content > 80%.
- Pre & post course tests are performed to measure knowledge acquisition.
