An Introduction to Health and Safety in Oil and Gas Processing Operations

This course is intended for participants with either very little or no prior experience of a processing workshop or processing plant environment. It is also suitable for individuals wishing to progress to a career as a Process Technician and also for individuals who would like an overview of processing operations. 

Learning Objectives : 

Upon completion of the course, participants will be able to: 

  • Explain the concepts of hazards, risks and ALARP in the oil and gas processing operations 
  • Identify and describe potential hazards and risks for oil and gas processing operations  
  • Describe safe working practices for oil and gas processing operations 
  • Explain the importance of communication and teamwork for safe oil and gas processing operations  
  • Provide typical example of health, safety and emergency procedures in the oil and gas industry  

 

Teaching methods :

  • The course will be delivered by means of classroom lectures and skills training exercises 
  • Workshop practice content: not required for this course. 
  • Pre & post course tests are performed to measure knowledge acquisition.
