An Introduction to Physical Science and Basic Properties of Materials
This unit develops the skills required to gain a basic understanding of physical science and the properties of materials in an engineering context.
Learning Objectives :
Upon completion of the course, participants will be able to:
- Outline the basic principles of matter and atomic structure in an engineering context
- Outline the basic properties of materials in an engineering context
- Outline the basic properties of mechanics in an engineering context
- Carry out simple mechanics calculations in an engineering context
- Basic scientific principles and properties in an engineering context
Teaching methods :
- The course will be delivered by means of classroom lectures.
- Pre & post course tests are performed to measure knowledge acquisition.
