An Introduction to Health and Safety in Maintenance Workshops

This unit develops the skills required to gain the introductory skills and knowledge required to work safely in a maintenance training workshop environment.

Learning Objectives : 

Upon completion of the course, participants will be able to: 

  • Explain the concepts of hazards, risks and ALARP in the O&G maintenance workshop 
  • Describe safe working practices for oil and gas maintenance workshop 
  • Identify and describe potential hazards and risks in a maintenance workshop 
  • Demonstrate safe working practices in a maintenance workshop 
  • Explain the importance of communication and teamwork for safe oil and gas training workshop 
  • Understand Health and safety for a maintenance workshop  
  • Provide typical example of health, safety and emergency procedures in a training workshop 

 

Teaching methods :

  • The course will be delivered by means of classroom lectures and skills training exercises 
  • Workshop practice content: not required for this course. 
  • Pre & post course tests are performed to measure knowledge acquisition.
